Učka Nature Park: one-day escape to nature
Duration
Discover Učka Nature Park, where the Mediterranean meets the continent. Prehistoric traces testify to the long history of settlement in the area. Učka is a popular destination for hikers, mountaineers and cyclists. The canyon of Vela Draga offers climbers well-maintained routes. Twenty years ago, Učka and part of Čičarija became a nature park. Čičarija offers natural treasures such as Veliki Planik and Korita spring.
Učka boasts exceptional biodiversity in a small area. Both continental and Mediterranean plant species thrive here - around 1300 different species. Look out for the endemic Učka bellflower and perhaps even the white-headed vulture or golden eagle. Učka is home to many nesting and migratory birds. The diversity of habitats makes Učka an important biodiversity hotspot in Europe. Visit Učka Nature Park and discover its rich cultural and natural heritage.
